The BBC have released a trailer for next’s week Doctor Who episode, and the Series 9 finale, Hell Bent – watch it in the players below. The episode airs 8pm, Dec 5 on BBC One and is an hour special, check out the cast list HERE [Spoilers!] and synopsis HERE.
I'm feeling really apprehensive about this episode. On one hand, there's been a lot of build-up and it looks very good from the trailers. On the other hand, there's no way it's going to be as good as Heaven Sent. While I can't hold this episode to the same standards, Moffat does have a way of taking an amazing set-up and getting it all wrong (just look at Death in Heaven).
So I'm going into this episode with low expectations. If the episode is poor, I haven't expected too much. If the episode's fantastic, I'll be blown away. All I can say right now is that I really don't want to season finale to be the poorest episode in an otherwise perfect season.
I thought sleep no more was the lacking episode this season, so hell bent won't be the poorest!
To say 'there's no way it can live up to Heaven Sent' is silly' – by that reasoning, there's no way any episode can live up to a previous episode – but they can, and do, and blow previous episodes out of the water. And it might or might not happen tonight.
