An airing of The Fifth Doctor story Earthshock follows. Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited – The Fifth Doctor premieres Sunday, May 26, 8:00pm ET/PT.
BBC America did something horrible to "Tomb of the Cybermen" and "Spearhead from Space" when they aired the 2nd and 3rd Doctor specials: They stretched them out and made them widescreen using a weird, nauseating non-standard stretch method. Because there was more stretch on the edges of the screen than in the middle, you couldn't use your re-size button on your TV remote to fix it. It was like try to watch these classic episodes in a nasty, vomit-inducing funhouse mirror. BBC America needs to STOP THIS twisted mutilation of the classic show and show in 4:3 like they did with the 1st Doctor! Can you please ask them why they are doing this sickening garbage and ask them to STOP IT?!
Not a fan of either the 3rd or 4th Doctor episodes, but Earthshock?
Good pick, one of the best 5th Doctor episodes.
