The BBC has released a new trailer for the New Years Day episode – Resolution. After the pretty much the entire Doctor Who community has already sussed out that the Daleks were returning on 1st January,
The original trailer features an overlay Nicholas Briggs quoting the standard classic line – EXTERMINATE. It is great to hear his return. We would have been saddened if he had been replaced.
This special has had a strange lack of promotion from the BBC and we haven’t seen a lot of excitement about the episode. The absence of any information and the move from Christmas Day seems to have deadened the typical hype from the internet that is associated with a holiday event. Certainly, our feeds have carried little chatter from others and we’ve been covering different Doctor Who related activities
Basically all there has been to promote the special has been few pictures and an embargoed press screening for 500 or so select press, former cast members and production crew at the BFI last week. And even though the “secrets” have already been leaked, the attendees from the event are embargoed from promoting it.
One could say that a new Doctor can’t claim to be the Doctor until they face their greatest fear. Hopefully, this new video will begin to build the excitement for the first confrontation between the Thirteenth Doctor and her greatest enemy – the Daleks.
