The opening episode of season three of the US sitcom, Community, featured a Doctor Who parody – watch it in the player above. This is not the first time the show has referenced Doctor Who, watch another clip from earlier this year HERE.

  1. That parody was hilarious, I remember hearing on the commentary for one episode that some of John Oliver's costume were based on Doctor Who, so there are some fans of DW on the production staff.

  2. What I find funny is that I think Doctor Who has been referenced on the show before which means, in this shows universe, Abed has Doctor Who AND Inspector SpaceTime to watch….

  3. Some of the comments I saw (not specifically here) are very irritating. Dissing Community simply because they're using/referencing Doctor Who. You don't even watch the show! You don't know anything about its humor, its universe.. The writers staff are all huge nerds and the show is full of all kinds of pop culture reference and homage episodes. They are not mocking the show, they're merely answering popular fan demands to have a Doctor Who homage episode and I guess this is what they came up with.
Doctor Who is my all time favourite show and Community – which is hilarious and smart – is not far behind.

Sorry for the rant but when I watched the episode, I almost squeeled at that part I was so happy to have my favorite show used in that way on my fav commedy! And the ignorant responses I saw totally ruined it.
