Next Tuesday, Marie Curie will be hosting a star studding Doctor Who virtual quiz featuring a host of Time Lords, and their friends, setting the questions for fans. So if you fancy yourself smarter than a 900 year old, sign up now!
Among the many things that have made 2020 so… well, 2020ish, has been the way in which charities have never before been so needed, so challenged as their usual avenues of fund-raising have been suspended, and so inspiring as they’ve found other ways to raise money. Marie Curie, the UK based charity dedicated to supporting the terminally ill and their families, have responded with an entire series on online celebrity events. And among them is a Doctor Who virtual quiz, hosted by none other than Doctor Who star David Tennant, and his fellow actor, producer, and wife Georgia Tennant!
But that’s not all, the pair have promised that they’ve be joined by four other Doctors too. “Like The Five Doctors only better,” as David explains, “because it’s three actual Doctors rather than Three and a Half Doctors and a Bloke in a Wig.” There will also be three companions taking part on the night. And some other faces that will be familiar to Doctor Who fans too.

You can sign up for the quiz at the Marie Curie charity quiz homepage. Then you’ll get sent the links and details on when and how to watch. Note that the quiz is just for fun (and charity) so there’s no official score keeping. Just you, a piece of pen and paper, and your own satisfaction. Besides, notoriously technophobic David Tennant being let loose on a Google Forms powered quiz would be enough to give a Weeping Angel nightmares.
Donate what you can to Marie Curie to help support the terminally ill and their families
Marie Curie are requesting a £5 donation from each player or team taking part in the event. However you can give more if you’re able, and can still take part even if you’re not in a position to donate. Their initial goal across the entire range of quizzes was £20,000 but at the time of writing are already at just under £22,000! That’s after three of the events have already taken place (featuring Andy from CBeebies, a Gavin and Stacey quiz, and a Louis Theroux quiz).
