Doctor Who: Flux will cross time and space to uncover the mystery of the Flux. But with the official synopsis we now know a little more about what’s in store

The BBC have released new details of Doctor Who Series 13, a week ahead of its arrival on our screens. As we already knew, Flux will be one epic six part story. But now we have the official synopsis of the story that promises to be the Thirteenth Doctor’s biggest adventure yet.

It confirms that the historical war seen in the trailer in the Crimean. It also gives us the name of the alien planet we also saw – Atropos. Meanwhile, quotes from showrunner Chris Chibnall appear to confirm that the Ravagers previously mentioned are the pair of crystal skulled aliens from the trailer. He also reveals that they’re aliens from another universe entirely. In fact he describes them as “a couple of characters who we meet who are creatures of another dimension who have a history with the Doctor – but I even think with this I am giving too much away!”

Considering last series’ huge revelations about the Doctor herself, could it be that the Ravagers have knowledge of her from before she was a Time Lord? Could they even hold the key to her finding out where she really came from? With Jodie Whittaker also describing Flux as “a selfdiscovery rollercoaster” it’s entirely possible…
