BBC has released some new photos for the first chapter for Doctor Who Flux, the six-part story arc that encompasses Jodie Whittaker’s last series as the Doctor. We can glean a few more facts about our newest companion, Dan Lewis (John Bishop)’s life from the photos. But, even more, revealing is the extent and span of this story.
There could be potential spoilers in photos, so we leave it up to the reader to determine how much they want to know before the episode airs.
Dan Lewis – John Bishop
This is the first episode for Dan Lewis’ character, and obviously, he will appear prominently in this episode. We have already seen Dan’s house in the sneak peek clip for episode one.
Dan does seem to travel everywhere, including his home with a jacket on. But, perhaps, he is always cold? He also either works or has a close friendship with Diane Curtis (Nadia Albina), a staff member of the National Museum Liverpool.

The Portal?
The question with a new companion is, how did they cross paths with the Doctor? It appears we have answers with these new photos. The Doctor has found something that piques her interest in the home of a local fan of Liverpool’s famous football club.
Dare we say that this “possible portal” to places unknown appears in Dan Lewis’ home near his fan scarf?

The Doctor, the Companions in the TARDIS
Whatever the reason for Dan connection to the Doctor, it quickly results in a ride in the TARDIS alongside the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and Yaz (Mandip Gill). Dan’s outdoor jacket is safely on his person.

It isn’t a smooth trip, and Dan experiences the bumps and shakes of a ride in Time and Space.

Karvanista’s Ship?
Somehow the Doctor has found herself on another alien spaceship. Dare we suggest that it belongs to Karvanista?

There Be Monsters Here
We knew that the Weeping Angels were returning for Series 13, but we weren’t expecting them to arrive so early in the season. Especially with the spacecraft flying over Liverpool earlier this month. But appears that along with the Sontarans, who we are expecting to appear in Chapter 2, the Weeping Angels make an early appearance.

And, of course with Weeping Angels, the Doctor is going to find herself travelling back in time.
