Covers and details for Titan Comics’ entry into the Doctor Who multimedia epic Doom’s Day are now available!
Titan Comics have revealed more details of their previously announced part in Doom’s Day. Their entry in the Doctor Who multi-platform storyline will take the form of a two-issue comic series. The first of the issues arrives on the 5th of July 5 and features Missy on Doom’s trail as the self-proclaimed greatest assassin in the universe makes her comic book debut.
Doom’s Day unites almost every part of the extended Whoniverse, from audio drama to novels, and from comics to games. All in all, it’s a unique celebration of Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary. The action follows Doom as she travels through all of time and space in pursuit of the Doctor. Because only they can save her from her ever-approaching Death. She only has 24 hours and a vortex manipulator to save herself before her fate is sealed forever. Every hour a new adventure, every hour closer to death… And in these particular hours, her hunt brings her face to face instead with the Doctor’s best frenemy: Missy.
This revelation also hints at why Doom’s Day is being listed as a 60th Anniversary event. Perhaps each instalment will similarly feature Doom encountering a significant character or location from across the show’s six decades?

Doctor Who: Doom’s Day #1 is available to pre-order now
The comic series is written by Eisner-nominated Jody Houser (Stranger Things, Star Wars, Spider-Man) with art by Roberta Ingranata (Witchblade). The comic debuts with two covers for fans to collect: from celebrated artist Pasquale Qualano, and a photo cover variant. The Qualono cover is particularly striking, featuring a homage to Dick Giordano’s classic cover to Detective Comics #566, in which Batman faced an art exhibit dedicated to his entire Rogue’s Gallery.
Doctor Who comics editor Jake Devine says, “I’m so excited to be working with Jody and Roberta once more, and I can’t think of a better team to introduce this dazzling new character to the world of Doctor Who comic books. Throw Missy into the fold and you’ve got one sensational adventure!”
Doctor Who: Doom’s Day #1 ($3.99) is now available to pre-order globally from May’s Diamond Previews catalogue, ForbiddenPlanet.com and on digital device via Comixology. The series will be available in comic stores and on digital devices at release. As noted before in Blogtor’s earlier story, Amazon also lists a hardback edition due for release in August, presumably collecting both issues in one volume.
