BBC Worldwide have confirmed the release of the boxset, the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Collection. The set, available on DVD and Bluray, will be limited edition and released on Sept 8. Pre-order on DVD HERE and on Bluray HERE. Check out the details below.
For the ultimate Doctor Who fan, BBC Worldwide UK are proud to present a special collection of highlights from the groundbreaking 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, including – for the first time – An Adventure in Space and Time on Bluray.
The limited edition collector’s set (6,000 on Bluray and 4,000 on DVD) includes: the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor; Matt Smith’s Farewell, The Time of the Doctor; the Series 7 finale, The Name of the Doctor; and the Eighth Doctor’s (played by Paul McGann) surprise regeneration into John Hurt’s War Doctor, The Night of the Doctor.

The collection also includes: an exclusive cut of the read-through of The Day of the Doctor featuring Matt Smith and David Tennant, deleted scenes, new-to-DVD cinema trails and Mark Gatiss’ award winning drama about the genesis of Doctor Who, An Adventure in Space and Time. The hilarious The Five-ish Doctors (Reboot), starring Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and a host of special guests, will also be included on DVD and Bluray for the first time.

The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine has also revealed that the set will include: behind-the scenes features for The Name of the Doctor, The Day of the Doctor, The Time of the Doctor and An Adventure in Space and Time; BBC Three documentary, Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide; 50th anniversary minisode, The Last Day; BBC America documentaries, Tales from The TARDIS and Farewell To Matt Smith; the BBC Two special, The Science of Doctor Who; and the 2013 Doctor Who at the Proms.

  1. FYI – The 'Adventure in Time and Space' BluRay is available separately in Germany – I just got it today. It is coded for all regions, so can play anywhere.
