We have seen the beautiful steel case cover for Doctor Who: Shada now BBC has released the DVD artwork. It isn’t quite as flamboyant but we do think you will like this version as well.

About Shada
It was a great time for classic Doctor Who. Tom Baker was in the TARDIS accompanied by one of the series most favourite companions, Romana II as portrayed by Lalla Ward. But even as the series was at the high of its popularity, BBC was hit by a series of strikes and this highly anticipated finale never was completed.
Now after 38 years, BBC Worldwide has combined the original remaster footage with brand new colour animation to create a completed version of the story. Also, Tom Baker and Lalla Ward have returned to provide the new-recorded voices from the unfilmed version of the original script. Shada finds the Doctor (Tom Baker) in Cambridge working alongside companion Romana (Lalla Ward) and retired Time Lord, Professor Chronotis, to defeat the evil alien Skagra who is attempting to steal the secrets to the prison planet, Shada.
Tom Baker says, “Shada was one of my favourite Doctor Who stories. I have many fond memories of shooting the location scenes in Cambridge, and it was disappointing not to finish the story in studio. I’m so glad that BBC Worldwide have found a way to bring fans a complete visual version.”
Doctor Who: Shada has been reconstructed by the same talented team that reassembled Patrick Troughton’s lost episode, The Power of the Daleks. The original footage and film negatives from the 1979 shoot, have been rescanned in full HD and digitally remastered. Combined with the beautiful colour animation and Baker’s and Ward’s voice, the story can be completed.

Doctor Who: Shada will be released as a digital download on Friday 24th November. As an added bonus for fans, there will be stunning Steel Box DVD/Bluray version on Monday 4th December.
