Doctor Who Magazine Issue 526 is out today and this issue of the ultimate source of all things Who is focused on the upcoming release of Season 12 Blu-ray release. Season 12 was Tom Baker premiere as the Fourth Doctor. To celebrate, the magazine is interviewing several members of the cast and crew responsible for these stellar episodes, including Roger Murray-Leach, Production Designer, Robert Holmes, script editor, actor Kevin Lindsay (Styre in The Sontaran Experiment) and the Doctor, himself, Tom Baker.
Tom Baker reflects on the role that changed his life. “You know, Doctor Who is nothing to do with science fiction,” he says. “It’s nothing to do with anything. It’s a bit like religion really, in that all you have to do is believe it. And I can believe any old nonsense.”
Also included in this issue is an interview with the actress, Jessica Martin, who talks about recreating her character Mags from The Greatest Show in the Galaxy in ink instead of film. And Georgia Tennant talks about who Doctor Who has always been part of her life, even more so since she met her husband on the set of Doctor Who – The Doctor’s Daugther in 2008.
The Time Team returns to review several tearjerkers from 1982, 2006 and 2010 as the group lets their emotions show in this month’s article.
And we can’t finish this article without comment on the beautiful cover created by DWM’s own Peri Godbold. Definitely something to keep.
Doctor Who Magazine 526 is now on sale, from Thursday 31 May for the price £5.99.
