If you’ve been watching Children in Need tonight you’d have been treated to a special sneak peek of the new Doctor Who Christmas Special, Twice Upon A Time.

Twice Upon A Time will be a particularly special episode as it is Peter Capaldi’s final appearance as the Twelfth Doctor. The episode will also feature Jodie Whittaker’s introduction as the Thirteenth Doctor and an extra special turn from David Bradley as the First Doctor.  This follows his beautiful portrayal of William Hartnell, who played the first incarnation of everyone’s favourite Time Lord from Gallifrey, in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special An Adventure in Space and Time.

Written by Steven Moffat, in his last episode as showrunner, and directed by Rachel Talalay, we’ll have to wait for Christmas to devour the full treat. Meanwhile, tonight, we were afforded a small TARDIS scene that included some witty banter between the First and the Twelfth Doctor. Mark Gatiss, as the mysteriously named Captain, also entered the TARDIS and uttered the immortal lines. There’s a heartbreaking moment for Gatiss, also, when the Doctor mentions the First World War.

Have a look at the sneak peek and get yourself in the Christmas mood. and don’t forget to donate to Children in Need.
