This year you’ll be able to live-stream Crime and Comedy’s A Christmas Carol starring Colin Baker, Sophie Aldred and Tom Baker as it tours the UK again
In what’s now an annual yuletide tradition, Crime and Comedy Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol returns. The new tour will take place this November at theatres across the UK. Live on stage, Colin Baker (The Sixth Doctor) and Sophie Aldred (Ace) lead the cast of Charles Dickens’ Christmas classic. It also features a rare, specially recorded appearance by Tom Baker (The Fourth Doctor) as Jacob Marley!
On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is warned by the ghost of Jacob Marley that he will be visited by three Spirits – Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet To Come. They whisk <strong>Scrooge to the past and his happy boyhood Christmastimes, to the present to meet Tiny Tim at Bob Cratchit’s Christmas feast, and to the future and Scrooge’s own miserable grave – all to show him the error of his ways. But will Scrooge wake on Christmas morning a changed man?
The presentation takes the form of a radio-play-live-on-stage. The setting is a radio studio, the actors ready as if for a radio broadcast, and the sound effects are created live. It all combines to transport the audience to Victorian London. There, Dickens’ timeless tale of charity, forgiveness and redemption at Christmas unfolds once more.
You can also livestream the performance on the 15th of November, or buy previous productions on DVD
You can now also buy a recording on DVD of the production’s previous version, with Peter Purves as the narrator. There are also DVDs of the same team’s Sherlock Holmes adaptations The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Sign of Four. These both star Colin Baker as Holmes and Terry Molloy as Watson. You can order them now from Honolee Media.
There will also be a livestream of the performance on the 15th of November. You can buy your tickets for the livestream here.
