Director Jamie Payne will be behind the camera for the 2013 Doctor Who Christmas Special. Payne directed the Series 7 episode Hide. The one hour episode, as of yet untitled (officially anyway), is written by current showrunner Steven Moffat and stars Jenna-Louise Coleman and Matt Smith in his last outing as the Eleventh Doctor (well, until the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special). It will also, possibly, see the new actor, or actress, to play The Twelfth Doctor. Filming starts in August.
Before the Christmas Special, there’s the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special to enjoy too! Read all about it HERE.
Everyone needs to cut the crap about this next Doctor being female crap. Gives me a headache.
Here here. Well said. The Doctor is a male character. Get over it..
Not a bad choice given that "Hide" was the only half-way decent episode of Series 7.
Starts filming next month already? Not September?
Next month? I thought it was pushed back to September.
"It will also, possibly, see the new actor, or actress, to play The Twelfth Doctor."
Can we please quit it with this nonsense? The Doctor is male and always will be: The End.
I think hide was beautifully shot
Hide was an awesome episode. And yes enough with this female Doctor nonsense. Only if they want to run the show into the ground. Would be a total waste of a regeneration and all our time.
