Departing showrunner Chris Chibnall is heading to LA to join Jodie Whittaker at Gallifrey One!
Gallifrey One has always been a convention that celebrates the whole of Doctor Who, right from the 23rd of November 1963 to the present day. And the 33rd edition of the biggest Doctor Who convention in the world, happening in just one month’s time, is proving to be right up to date. It’s now its final major guest announcement and it’s a doozy – departing showrunner Chris Chibnall!
Chris Chibnall has written for Doctor Who since 2007’s 42, going on to stories for the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors. He was then chosen to succeed Steven Moffat as showrunner in 2018 and create the Thirteenth Doctor. He was also co-producer and head writer on the first two series of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood. In between all of this, he was the showrunner of Law & Order: UK, starring Bradley Walsh, Peter Davison and Freema Agyeman, and British ratings smash hit Broadchurch, starring David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, and Arthur Darvill.

Chibnall joins a packed guest list that features a mini-Power of the Doctor reunion
Chibnall will be talking part in panels, interviews, read-throughs, and autography sessions throughout the weekend. And he joins an impressive list of guests representing his era, especially his final episode The Power of the Doctor. Chief among these, of course, is the Thirteenth Doctor herself, Jodie Whittaker, who is Gallifrey One’s lead guest this year. Joining Whittaker and Chibnall, are Power of the Doctor co-stars Janet Fielding (Tegan), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor/Guardian of the Edge), Katy Manning (Jo), Bonnie Langford (Mel), and Patrick O’Kane (Ashad the Lone Cyberman).
Also attending is director Jamie Magnus Stone who, in addition to Power, helmed Spyfall Part One, Praxeus, Ascension of the Cybermen, The Timeless Children, The Halloween Apocalypse, War of the Sontarans, and Village of the Angels.
And that’s on top of host of other guests from across Doctor Who’s sixty year history and the various media of novel, comics, and audios.
Gallifrey One takes place at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel the 17th-19th of February. You can read the full guest list and details of the weekend of packed events at the offical site here.
