Details of the final series of Torchwood: Among Us are now available. Part one of the three-part series was available as a full-cast audio production in May 2023. The second part will be released in June 2023 and the third and final instalment will be available in July 2023.
Starring Samantha Béart (Orr) and Paul Clayton (Mr Colchester), Torchwood: Among Us has also features many beloved Torchwood characters such as Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper), Kai Owen (Rhys Williams), Tracy-Ann Oberman (Yvonne Hartman) and the late Murray Melvin (Bilis Manger).
Returning for conclusion are Tracy-Ann Oberman (as Yvonne Hartman), Samantha Béart (as Orr), Paul Clayton (as Mr Colchester), Jonny Green (as Tyler Steele), Alexandria Riley (as Ng), and Kai Owen (as Rhys Williams).
A special guest appears in the series finale. Legendary Blue Peter presenter, actress and writer, Janet Ellis MBE is cast as Janet – a TV presenter and national treasure having a truly terrible day.
Janet Ellis said: “In 1979, I played Princess Teka in The Horns of Nimon with Tom Baker and I’ve been a Doctor Who fan ever since. Torchwood is just the most brilliant set of stories and spin-offs. It has the same life and vigour and all of the things you need from Doctor Who – a real leap of imagination while also keeping it real.”
Producer and Writer James Goss said: “We were gobsmacked to get Janet Ellis playing the part of Janet. The queen of Blue Peter! The mother of Sophie Ellis-Bextor! Teka from Doctor Who and the Horns of Nimon! It turns out that Janet worked with Paul Clayton on Jigsaw and he took her out to lunch and talked her into it. Words cannot describe how starstruck the entire studio was by her and how game she was. I still have samples on my phone that I play to remind myself that it actually happened.”
