David Tennant in cinemas with Mary Queen of Scots

Arriving in cinemas this Friday, 18th January is the new star-studded film Mary, Queen of Scots. It features Saorise Ronan in the title role and also stars Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce. A reason for Doctor Who fans to make the trip to the cinema might come in the form of David Tennant who plays the role of John Knox. Knox was the founder of Presbyterian Church of Scotland and leader of the country’s Reformation.

Bernard Cribbins and other Doctor Who stars to appear in remade Dad’s Army episodes

A Dad’s Army remake? There was one of those quite recently at the cinema wasn’t there? Well, this is a bit different. Like Doctor Who, Dad’s Army has episodes missing from its archive. Only three in this instance. But, these three episodes are to be remade by UK Gold. Bernard Cribbins is to star in the role of Godfrey. also starring in it is recent Doctor Who star Kevin Eldon, who creeped us out as Ribbons in It takes you away. He’ll be taking on the role of Lance Corporal Jones in these special episodes. The lost episodes will be shot using the original scripts and air later in the year.

Russell T Davies wins at Writers Guild Awards

This week the Writers Guild Awards were held. Josie Lawrence presented the best short form Tv Drama award which was won by Russell T Davies for his excellent script for A Very English Scandal.
