Paul McGann returns as the Eighth Doctor in Doctor Who – Time Lord Victorious: He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not, available now from Big Finish.
He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not marks Big Finish‘s first full-cast audio drama contribution to BBC Studios‘ ongoing multi-platform Doctor Who event Time Lord Victorious, whose story is currently being told across novels, comics, audio, and beyond.
Written by Carrie Thompson, He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not is a Western-inspired story set in a rackety town on a desert works, and features a troublesome Ood! This story forms the first part of a trilogy, and will be followed by The Enemy of My Enemy, which is due for release in November 2020, and later by Mutually Assured Destruction, which is due out in December 2020.
Thompson has said, “It’s a delight to be involved in a transmedia story with such huge scope; I can’t wait to see how it unfolds across all of the other platforms. I have always had a soft spot for the Ood and therefore I was delighted to write this story.”
Paul McGann stars as the Eighth Doctor alongside Silas Carson as Brian the Ood, with other guest cast members including Jack DeVos, Pauline Eyre, Misha Malcolm, Martin McDougall, and Melanie Stevens.
McGann has said of the Doctor’s new friend, “Brian the Ood is a lot of fun, and I should know. I’ve shaken the hands of a few Ood in my time, around the world. And I’ve had some good conversations with the odd Ood dude – none of whom were rude.”
Actor Silas Carson added, “I just love doing the Ood – in all their different forms. Playing an Ood who’s an assassin means there’s much more range for evilness. As always these scripts are so much fun and there’s a real tongue in cheek element to this story.
“It was interesting to subvert the character qualities of the Ood for this tale. Brian is anomalous and probably the only assassin Ood; there’s a real tension with him – appearances can be deceiving and none more so than with Brian.”
