Big Finish are among the nominees in the sixth BBC Audio Drama Awards 2017 with 3 nominations.
The nods come in the Best Online/non Broadcast category for Doctor Who: Absent Friends, Doctor Who: Death and the Queen and Torchwood: More Than This.
‘Absent Friends’ written by John Dorney is part of the emotional and exciting ‘Doom Coalition 3′ box set released in September this year. It stars Paul McGann as the eighth Doctor, Alex Kingston as River Song, Nicola Walker and Hattie Morahan.
The second nomination comes for what must have been the most highly anticipated Doctor Who event in recent times. As David Tennant and Catherine Tate returned as the Doctor and Donna in the new Tenth Doctor Adventures. The 3 new stories captured all the Doctor/Donna goodness. The nomination goes to ‘Death and the Queen’ written by James Goss.
Finally is ‘Torchwood: More Than This’ written by Guy Adams. This individual story stars original Torchwood cast members Eve Myles and Tom Price alongside Richard Nichols.
Other nominees in this category all bar one are Doctor Who related! Baker’s End: The King of Cats, Bafflegab Productions stars Tom Baker and Katy Manning while Carmilla for Audible UK features ex-time Lord David Tennant. Alien – Out of the Shadows for Audible UK completes the category.

Each category is judged by a team of industry experts including actress Alison Steadman, journalist Baz Bamigboye, and producer Piers Plowright. Finalists will be announced on 3 January 2017.
