Big Finish Productions have unveiled details of their latest audio series, Doctor Who: The Fifth Doctor Adventures – Wicked Sisters, which sees the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) reunite with some familiar faces!
Doctor Who: The Fifth Doctor Adventures – Wicked Sisters, the latest upcoming release from Big Finish, will see Peter Davison‘s Fifth Doctor reunite with several old friends and foes.
For the first time since Big Finish‘s Key2Time trilogy, the Fifth Doctor will once again cross paths with sisters Abby and Zara. Ciara Janson and Laura Doddington will reprise their roles as the two sisters, who were created by pan-dimensional beings known as the Grace to save space and time. Abby and Zara went on to have adventures of their own in their acclaimed spin-off series Graceless. After centuries of wandering through time and space, they’re about to meet the Doctor again!
This new audio drama will not only see the Fifth Doctor reunited with Abby and Zara, but also one of his former companions. Wicked Sisters will see Louise Jameson return as Leela, on-screen companion of Tom Baker‘s Fourth Doctor.
What’s more, Wicked Sisters has been written by Simon Guerrier, creator and writer of Graceless, who also wrote Abby and Zara’s first appearance in 2009 Big Finish story The Judgement of Isskar. This new full-cast Doctor Who audio drama box set will feature three linked adventures by Guerrier:
- The Garden of Storms
- The Moonrakers
- The People Made of Smoke
Producer Mark Wright has said, “It’s been ten years since we first took Abby and Zara off on their own adventures, and it’s fun to get the team that’s worked on every episode of Graceless together every couple of years.
“Simon Guerrier’s scripts always take us into unexpected territory, and Ciara Janson and Laura Doddington bring something new to their performances each time Abby and Zara are back together. As it’s been a decade since the first series of Graceless, we thought it was time to bring things full circle and take the sisters back to where it all began – with the Fifth Doctor.”
Writer Simon Guerrier has also added, “It’s been a thrill to write for the Fifth Doctor and Leela, and put them up against Abby and Zara. You don’t need to know anything about Graceless – that was part of the brief from my masters – but they’re sisters with extraordinary powers that threaten all of time and space.”
