Based on the novel by Russell T Davies, and starring the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy), Chris Cwej (Travis Oliver) and Roz (Yasmin Bannerman), listeners can enjoy Doctor Who: Damaged Goods, on download at £3.99 during November.
Nominated for the 2016 Scribe Awards in the Best Audio release category, Doctor Who: Damaged Goods is part of the novel adaptations range from Big Finish. The release was adapted by Jonathan Morris from the original Virgin New Adventures novel by Russell T Davies. Published in 1996, Damaged Goods was Davies’ first foray into the world of Doctor Who storytelling. Less than a decade later he would be the man tasked with relaunching the show for BBC One television. Given another new series is currently airing, it went alright!
During November listeners can download Doctor Who: Damaged Goods for the bargain price of £3.99. The Big Finish App, available on Apple and Android devices, also makes listening even easier. It is also a free app to download, just search in your app store.
If you require more convincing, BlogtorWho reviewed Damaged Goods, plus The Well Mannered War, in 2015. That review can be found here.
Fans of the Novel Adaptations can also look forward to The Seventh Doctor: The New Adventures. This box set of new adventures starring the Seventh Doctor, Chris and Roz is released later this month. Chris and Roz were characters created specifically for the Virgin New Adventures novels. Now, thanks to Big Finish, they will journey with the Seventh Doctor in some brand new adventures.
The year is 1987 and there’s a deadly new narcotic on the streets of London. As part of their investigations the Doctor and his companions Chris and Roz move into the Quadrant, a rundown housing estate. An ancient alien menace has been unleashed, a menace somehow linked to a local gang leader known as The Capper, a charmed young boy called Gabriel and his mother Winnie, the enigmatic Frei Foundation, and Eva Jericho, a woman driven to the brink of madness.
As London descends into an apocalyptic nightmare, the Doctor must uncover the truth about the residents of the Quadrant and a desperate bargain made one dark Christmas Eve.
