This year is the 50th anniversary of the Cybermen, and Big Finish is celebrating by releasing Cybermen: The Complete Series 1 & 2. This series was originally released in 2005 and 2009 but has never been available as a set.
The series was written by Nicholas Briggs – the co-executive producer of Big Finish, and the actor known as the voice of the Daleks and Cybermen – and James Swallow. The story begins with a war on Earth between humans and the Orion Androids, a human invention gone rogue. The President of Earth allows a secret group called the Scorpius to use technology they’ve found on an alien ship – Cybermen. Cybermen sense the chaos and step into the breach.
