BBC Studios have announced that Sylvester McCoy‘s first season as the Doctor will be released on blu-ray in the next addition to Doctor Who – The Collection
The Seventh Doctor is set to join several of his fellow classic incarnations as his debut season gets the blu-ray treatment in this latest instalment of Doctor Who: The Collection.
Season 24 first aired in 1987, and featured Sylvester McCoy in his first outing as the Seventh Doctor, alongside Bonnie Langford as companion Mel. Across four stories, they travel across time and space to explore alien planets, a hostile future block, 1950s Wales, and finally the mysterious colony of Iceworld, where the Doctor meets new companion Ace (Sophie Aldred).
Along the way, the Doctor faces off against enemies including the Rani (Kate O’Mara) and the terrifying Tetraps in Time and the Rani, as well as Kroagnon and his cleaning robots in Paradise Towers, the ruthless Bannermen in Delta and the Bannermen and last but not least Kane (Edward Peel), the murderous ruler of Iceworld in Dragonfire.
Doctor Who: The Collection – Season 24 will feature newly remastered versions of each of these four stories, alongside exclusive special features, including:
