Australian television channel ABC have announced information on an exclusive interview with incoming Doctor, Peter Capaldi and the air date for Doctor Who Series 8 opening episode Deep Breath. Check out the deets below.
In the lead-up to the highly anticipated premiere of Doctor Who Series 8, ABC is thrilled to announce it has secured an exclusive interview with the incoming Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi, which will screen on Wednesday August 20 at 8pm on ABC.
Hosted by Julia Zemiro (Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery), When Julia Met The Doctor is a half-hour, one-on-one interview that will introduce the new Doctor to Australian audiences four days before his TV debut. Filmed in Sydney during the upcoming world tour, the interview will explore Peter’s experiences playing the Doctor so far, his relationship with the character over the years, and the challenges in taking on a role of such global cultural significance.
And for Whovians all over the country, ABC will simulcast the movie-length first episode of the new series, Deep Breath, in line with its broadcast in the UK, in the early hours (time TBC) of Sunday morning 24 August (EST). Following the simulcast, the episode will be available to watch on ABC iview throughout the day before its broadcast on ABC at 7.40pm Sunday 24 August.
