LEGO® is building on the success of Doctor Who by displaying a full-size replica of the TARDIS at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The LEGO® model of the TARDIS, last seen at last November’s Doctor Who Festival Australia, will materialise on March 17 at Sydney Olympic Park and remain on display until March 30, BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand announced Monday.
The Doctor’s old girl TARDIS will land just outside of Showbag Hall on Riverina Avenue at Australia’s largest annual event where the first ever Bensons Trading Co Doctor Who Showbag will be sold for AU$26.
The Sydney Royal Easter Show, held since 1823, is a celebration of Australian culture from rural traditions to modern life. Agricultural competitions and live entertainment run side by side and attract 800,000 visitors over the show.
The exclusive show bag contains a host of goodies including a TARDIS design back pack, tin case, beanie hat, notebook and lanyard, and a Doctor Who tote bag, worth AU$64.70.
BBC Worldwide ANZ business manager of licensing and sponsorship, Brigid Roberts, said in a press release: “We’re delighted to able to offer Whovians in Australia another chance to see the Lego TARDIS, and get their hands on a show bag full of treats for aspiring Time Lords”.
Bensons Trading Co Product’s Rebel Ruby said: “‘Bensons are very excited to release the brand new Doctor Who show bag at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show. We have worked closely with BBC Worldwide ANZ to come up with a fantastic pack that will have Doctor Who fans flocking to the show.”
Fans are encouraged to Tweet their pictures with the Lego Type 40 using the #legotardis hashtag.
