Ahead of Free Comic Book Day 2019, Titan Comics have unveiled a sneak preview of their Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor special issue!
First announced back in December, this standalone instalment of Titan Comics‘ ongoing Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor series will continue the well-established tradition of Doctor Who taking part in Free Comic Book Day.
As always, Free Comic Book Day will be taking place at comic retailers worldwide on the first Saturday in May. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday 4th May 2019. For one day only, fans will have the chance to get their hands on exclusive titles from a huge range of publishers!
Doctor Who and Titan Comics‘ contribution to Free Comic Book Day 2019 has been put together by the main creative team behind the current Thirteenth Doctor comic series, plus some of its other regular contributors. This special issue has been written by Jody Houser, and will feature artwork from Rachael Stott, Giorgia Sposito, Arianna Florean, and Enrica Eren Angiolini.
Three new pieces of artwork from the issue have just been unveiled ahead of its release next month – check them out below:
This year’s Free Comic Book Day marks a year since the Thirteenth Doctor made her comic debut in last year’s Doctor Who FCBD special issue. Since then, we’ve been fully introduced to this Doctor both on the page and on-screen, with Titan Comics‘ Thirteenth Doctor series now mid-way through its second story arc. This series, now on its sixth issue, has proved itself to be a perfect extension to the television series. Since November, its superb writer and team of artists have been bringing us our regular fix of adventures with the Doctor, Yaz, Graham, and Ryan. It’s an essential read for fans of this TARDIS team in the long months before Doctor Who finally returns to ours screens in 2020. As such, this one-off special issue for Free Comic Book Day is certainly not to be missed!
