Lenny Rush, the breakout star of Am I Being Unreasonable, enters the Doctor Who universe next year
Following his BAFTA win at the age of fourteen, Lenny Rush’s stardom is once again about to go out of this world as the Am I Being Unreasonable star takes on the role of Morris in the new series of Doctor Who, starring alongside Ncuti Gatwa.
Lenny has starred in numerous shows including Dodger, with Christopher Eccleston, and A Christmas Carol. But it as Ollie in Daisy May Cooper’s Am I Being Unreasonable that he became a household name. It also won him the BAFTA for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme this year. Now Lenny’s about to join the team travelling time and space as he takes on his new role as Morris.
Speaking about joining Doctor Who, Lenny said: “It’s an absolute honour to be part of Doctor Who, one of the most iconic shows on television and wow what a dream come true!”
Showrunner, Russell T Davies said: “This is what Doctor Who’s all about, brand new talent from the next generation, and no one’s more talented than Lenny! He joins the TARDIS team just in time for the Doctor’s greatest nightmare, so hold on tight!”

Who is Morris? A new friend for the Doctor, or a new foe?
Nothing has been revealed yet about Morris, beyond a single publicity photo. There’s certainly something of the teen genius about his bow tie (still cool) and blazer, though. But will be some new friend for the Doctor whose brains help him and Ruby save the day? Or will be the latest in a long line of Doctor Who scientists meddling in forces best left alone?
It does seem likely that Rush’s Morris appears in the same story as Bonnie Langford’s returning Mel, though, given how closely together the two announcements were made. But as with almost everything else Series 14 related, we’ll have to wait until next year to know for sure!
