The new preview shows us more of Sir Lenny Henry’s Spyfall character

Sir Lenny Henry has spoken to The One Show about his upcoming appearance in the Doctor Who premiere Spyfall, and introduced a new clip from the episode. The clip shows Henry’s character as a Bond villain style business magnate.  Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Yaz (Mandip Gill) go undercover as journalists to try and discover if he’s as human as he seems. Fortunately, in the spirit of the James Bond inspired story, the Doctor has equipped them with some hidden gadgets for the job…

Lenny couldn’t say too much about the plot “otherwise I’d have to kill you all.”  However, appearing in Doctor Who as a childhood dream of his. A lifelong fan he says he “literally used to hide behind the sofa,” with the Daleks his favourite monsters. Henry was also talking about his new autobiography, Who Am I Again? which tells the story of his long and varied career.

Also on the One Show sofa was renowned actor Kristin Scott Thomas. She said she “love to be in Doctor Who.” Described as a massive Doctor Who fan, she wants one day to play an alien and would love to have the experience of performing through prosthetics. With some of Doctor Who’s biggest casting coups having been inspired by public declarations by stars, don’t be surprised if Scott Thomas’ wish comes true.
