The BBC have revealed the title and details for the Doctor Who 2013 Christmas special – click on the images included here for bigger versions. The episode, which is Matt Smith’s final as The Doctor, is called The Time of the Doctor and will air on Christmas Day on BBC One. Watch a trailer HERE and check out the synopsis below:

Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars.  And amongst them – the Doctor.  Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

  1. I'm not ready for my Doctor to leave; Matt plays the part so well. Definitely makes me sad to think about it-even though I know the Doctor isn't going anywhere.

    Will we get Space of.. a minisode where he's trying to fit a new couch into the tardis, she doesn't like it so keeps making the rooms smaller so he has no space 😉

    Although Silent Night would have been a much better title given the subject and timing.

  3. On one of the others sites they're speculating that one of the faces is actually McGann… for some reason.
